No longer able to provide publicly funded foster care and adoption services unless it complies with Illinois law, Catholic Charities in the Diocese of Peoria announced today that it will withdraw from all state contracts and transfer its staff and caseload to a new non-profit organization with no affiliation to the Roman Catholic Church.
An adoption information session hosted by Family & Children 's Agency is set for Thursday, Oct. 27, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the main office of the agency, 9 Mott Avenue in Norwalk. Anyone interested in adopting a child is welcome to attend.
