There is naturally some fear and anxiety that comes along with welcoming a foster child into one’s home. However these are often based on misconceptions, and above all else, they are no match for the great rewards that also come with adopting an older child.

Look who they hire. Look what they do to children. Look what they do to families. You be the judge: Does CPS hate children?

the real TEST is when they become TEENAGERS….is your love conditional? will you tell them THEY OWE YOU BECAUSE YOU ADOPTED THEM?

@SpringChatty maybe some kids from foster care to go back home, but I do not think that it is enough. Too often, the courts use the length of time that the kids have spent in foster care against the parents, eg. saying that the child has formed a bond with the foster parents and therefore shouldn’t be returned to the bio parents.

    @NancyHey

Thats horrible, but someone has to help them in some way, it isn’t just them, and oftentimes, words can be twisted very easily to twist a story, or not enough words come out properly. like if one word is missing or the way it is said is missing, it messes up the whole case. I have seen some kids from foster care go home, so I dont think it is a 100 % thing.

@SpringChatty They buy and sell children much like slaves were bought and sold.

@NoaTheNeko25 CPS don’t help children! if you look at the back ground of all the children they have taken, you will notice that most of the children come from low income families.Never see a rich parents that do abuse their children have them taken away by CPS.You know why? Rich folks pay off CPS.

CPS don’t hate children, they are dollar signs to them.but once in their system they don’t care, just so long the money keeps rolling in.

@seanpaynedotnet I grew up on the Cahtolic Children`s Aid Society of Toronto and they treated me great. As for DURHAM & PEEL regions, STEER CLEAR OF THEM. they dont give two shits about any children, nor any parents. ALL THEY WANT IS THEIR PAYCHECK FROM THE GOV`T. I had one worker take my child because the fucker who tried to molest her got out of jail, and then she tried using my own past against me (I was an abused child), so I dared her, and I won in court too (Self-represented too!)

Any information for Canadians who deal with the CAS?

@PlatoJohnson There are some parents that have had their children removed for legit reasons. I’m not arguing that. I work with families that have open cases with CPS. I had a client lose her children because the boyfriend was abusive to her. There was no abuse to the children. My job helped this woman find housing and a job to get away from the abuser, but CPS removed the children while they investigated her. They lied about so many things. Children need protection, not seperation.

@BrutallyHonest3 The CPS/DCFS system in the US are really screwed up. I worked with battered women for years in a program and a lot of them had open cases with CPS and the social workers would try to find any reason to take children from the home. They get a lot of money from the state for every child they put into the system. The social workers are heartless and they will lie in court and they like to throw “General Neglect” around to convince these judges to remove kids. It’s sick!

  13. BrutallyHonest3 on September 9th, 2010 8:18 pm

@SexyMina07 Wow, it sounds like the CPS system in the US is really messed up. I for one am currently fostering my 7-year-old cousin. Social services removed him from his home a few weeks ago because both parents are alcoholics (literally never sober), letting him wear the same pair of pants for days, driving him to school drunk and practically living in dog crap. The state of their house is something out of hell. As far as I know, the CPS in the UK certainly remove children on legitimate grounds

    FUCK CPSHIT HEADS

  15. SexyMina07 on September 9th, 2010 9:33 pm

@willastro06 You social workers don’t try to reunify families. You social workers divide families and take innocent children from their homes. I understand the child being taken if the parents are physically abusive, doing drugs in the home, or not providing proper food, clothing and shelter for the children. But some workers are like puppets for their supervisers. I know a lot of parents that were lied on in court by social workers because the workers make up shit to cover their own asses.

  16. SexyMina07 on September 9th, 2010 10:24 pm

@L0Ks91 CPS/DCFS main goal is to serarate and divide families. They don’t care if they tramautize the children by placing them with strangers. They don’t care if the children get beaten or molested while in foster care. CPS/DCFS are hearthless. They don’t protect children. They try to turn children against their parents.

THE HOSPITAL WERE I HAD MY BABY SAID I FAIL A DRUG TEST THE NEXT DAY I PASSED THE TEST THEY TOOK A SAMPLE OF MY HAIR… CPS IS STILL INVESTIGATIN ME MY SON IS ALMOST 8. Mnths THEY SHOULD LEAVE ME ALONE!!! THERE SOME PARENTS OUT THER WHO REALLY NEED TO GET INVESTIGATED NOT ME!!!

  18. haneyj100 on September 9th, 2010 11:16 pm

they take children from families that care and love their children yet leave them with neglectful and abusive people. CPS YOU SUCK!!!!!

  19. CPSSucks on September 9th, 2010 11:48 pm

@NoaTheNeko25 – If CPS was abolished tomorrow, child abuse would dramatically decrease. A child is at least 6 times more likely to be abused in foster ‘care,’ (and that’s the gov’t own stats, from a number of years ago, so you know it is going to be much higher than that). CPS also is a huge, huge waste of taxpayer funds.

  25. NancyHey on September 10th, 2010 2:40 am

    Good idea!

  26. NancyHey on September 10th, 2010 3:16 am

What you do about the kids if their parents are arrested for abuse is you look for the next of kin to care for them.
