Dr. Maureen Brennan, a psychiatrist at a youth treatment center, encounters her newest patient, a sixteen-year-old bi-racial boy named America. Through their sessions, Dr. Brennan helps America come to terms with his roller-coaster life, which began when he was taken by authorities from his crack-addicted mother, and placed into foster care as an infant. Dr. Brennan works to help him open up about his painful past and discover the support and courage he needs to get his life back on track. “America” premieres Saturday Feb 28th at 9pm|8c on Lifetime.

DCFS advertises nothing but adoption and public assistance for the foster families. Some are wealthy and get food stamps for our kids. Rarely have I ever actually seen it spent on the kids. My children always had marks, were ill and never dressed appropriately for the weather. You can easily tell the difference between the photos of when I had my kids and when they were in foster care. No baby should ever have a black eye. No baby should ever have to wear clothes size 7 when they’re barely one. No baby should ever be sick seven months out of the year. Every baby should get medical attention when they need it. No baby should ever have to wear shoes that don’t fit right, especially without socks, just because they are cheaper. Help me fight. I’m writing a book exposing DCFS as corrupt and expressing the need for DCFS to open an internal affairs department so things can be looked at from a third party perspective. If cops have to do it, so should DCFS! Help me convince a publisher that the people want to know the specifics and want my book to come out. I loved this book and I liked the movie but because it was a T.V. movie they really sugar-coated it. It was good though.

raquel castro (liza) is sooo grown now i loved her in jersey girl. but philip (america) was great and he is sooo sexi too i watched it twice on saturday and and on sunday and on tuesday! it is sooo great to see that lovely movie!
i did’nt actually tear up or cry or nothin watchin this movie but it still was really sad when phillip started crying and was tryna tell rosie bout his past with reggie, i really liked this movie phill’s a good actor 2, but i dont think rosie helped him out as much as Liza did lol if u look at da movie carefully u see that, just my opinion though.

oh and sorry my angry comments as it was my mom’s birthday when the dcfs told her that they were going to take me away by tomorrow. My mom didn’t want to sing happy birthday and I was scared to death as I did not know what would happen to me.

but even though after the whole dcfs trouble my mom was in great pain and didn’t talk much now because I am the youngest kid in the family. It hurt her badly because she was afraid of losing me and I was her last son.

P.S. I’m 14 years old and yes my parents were horribly crying thanks to the DCFS as my parents didn’t want me to go. The DCFS is going to take me tomorrow but my parents are trying real hard to convince them that my brother was just angry at my parents. I feel for all you people who have children and get them taken away when you didn’t do anything and you were innocent! Sometimes the DCFS are assholes!
Fuck the DCFS they wanted me because they thought my parents were abusing me! Which they weren’t but my brother was pissed at my parents. Kids should have rights to see if THEY want to stay or not!
My children are slowly DYING due to CPS Indiana STEALING them and giving them to their father who is CONVICTED of Felony battery to a child! Judge Charlette Pellar has given them a death sentance. THE CORRUPTION MUST STOP

CPS/DCFS was called by someone who they will not disclose, between that and public school here in the US I took my children overseas to my husbands country where they can get decent schooling and a better life without scumbags trying to take children away from their parents.

yahh i know im fighting for my daughter because of my age yahh the took her cause i was 16 they took her last october bin fighting ever since but there allowed to lie and the who do u think the judge will believe i only get to see her for 2 hours a week but there nothing u can do they use to be out for the good know there out for $ every kid they take they get $ every class u take free or charged they get $ it like there paid to make u cry
For those of us who are foster parents trying to make a difference and trying our best to keep the real parents involved and updated- in your opinion, what can we improve on? I want the system to improve as much as you and I’m very interested in hearing your thoughts so I can do a better job too.

I am in foster care and it can be pretty bad. but what about the kids who are being mistreated? if we dont get nice ppl like you to live with, we? are truly going to live with monsters! My point is we need loving foster parents! Please, make someone’s life happy, better, normal! I wish I coulld have had that! for more information about becoming a foster parent, please contact me! Educate yourself. Things are not always what they seem. Read up on some of the horror stories. You can find them for any CPS/DCFS, etc. department throughout the country. I’m not saying it’s rampant, but I am saying bad things happen far more often than they should.
I can tell you as a former foster parent San bernardino is broke and it appears it has gotten worse. My adopted daughter who is severly disabled was sepperated from her brother and sister becouse the adopting family didnt want a retarted child, they will not allow contact with our daughter sence the day they wer adopted so she dosent know any of her blood family.

my best friends fiancé is in the national guard and has done his duty overseas. DFS filed charges against him for disturbing the peace when he tried to comfort his screaming daughter when dfs was separating them at the dfs office.

CPS, is so dirty and I cant find anyway as a parent to fight them, the court goes along with whatever they say, please we need to get together to stop this, theres enough abused children to keep them busy, why do they hurt children that have good parents, i may not have been perfect but was very willing to change anything she wanted, her only interest was to remove them!!!
