Imagine being a Canadian Mother and having your child held against your and his will by Child Protective Services in the USA. ————————— Mothers Day protest demands return of foster child from US Lisa Kirkman spent Mothers Day demanding that the Canadian and US governments help her get her son back. The Calgary woman and about 25 supporters marched with placards and chanted bring Noah home as they walked to the American consulate on Sunday. But Kirkman said there was no evidence the boy was abused or neglected by his family. It was explained to me it was a clerical error and would be cleared up in a couple of days, she said on Sunday. A couple of days became a couple of months which became a couple of years which brings us to today … and I am suffering another Mothers Day without my first-born child and hes suffering yet another Mothers Day in another foster home without a single family member telling him how much he means to them. Kirkman pleaded for Prime Minister Stephen Harper — who has children around the same age — to step in and demand the return of a child she said was abducted by a foreign government. @floydgirl7 = I’m sure you know, but be sure to document everything, video tape, tape record, write notes meticulously, get a doctor or two who is totally in your corner, and make sure those FREAKS at CPS don’t get access to you or your son’s medical file. There is a court case in process in BC, Canada right now where the parents have taken their fight with CPS to the media and the courts and they are so obviously in the right that if the judge rules against them, there will be hell to pay!

You have to find out the rest of the story. The child (ADHD) was eventually taken by CHS because of repeated non-supervision over 3+ months by the stepfather. He was first found along a highway running away, his Papa had hurt him, he was afraid. He was not protected because he wasn’t wearing a helmet on a bike. Police took him home several times over the course of the summer. Mom was phoned by DHS re lack of supervision but stayed another MONTH before eventually going back to Oregon.
@poloniawarrior – I was surprised to see this story on CNN, nevertheless, because it does not show CPS in either country in a good light as far as I can see. It is good though because it gives us the Mother’s perspective, how she – for example – finds the entire scenario akin to torture. And that’s what CPS is, one big torture machine, all over the world.
@CPSSucks I know. I just wanted to get my own plug in there for CNN to see. They never report what the US CPS does to its own citizens, but they like the stories that fit their own purposes.

When does it make financial sense for a state agency to spend $39M to make $1M in federal subsidies? When TAXPAYERS are paying the $39M AND the $1M. The million federal dollars are just an added bonus.
Every government program inevitably increases in size, with budgets that increase every year. The percentage from federal versus state funds is meaningless when both are funded with tax dollars.
It is fundamentally immoral to sell babies. There should NEVER be a financial incentive.

It is exactly the same over here in the Uk. The government had “adoption targets” which gave our social services money every time a child was adopted. It is disgusting. I am appalled at the above comments. The adoption scandal is well OUT globally . I am campaigning for children to be able to find a stem cell donor . They are not going to find a recipient donor with a non biological placement. They will never open the case file simply because of the corruption going on in closed court.

Nurses, doctors, teachers – these are all people to be especially wary of, as they weild great power in terms of the ability to kidnap, or help kidnap, your child. It might even be worth having your baby at home, rather than in a hospital that is teaming with CPS and nurses / doctors who would just love to steal your baby. Doctors can be very vindictive and will report you to CPS if you change doctors or if they think they might be sued by you.
my new born was taken from the hosp,i never even had a chance to be unfit.all i did was piss off a nurse,they then said i was mentally unfit.they lied and twisted the truth.the nurses would make remarks,this is a perfect blue eyed baby girl…in front of me.

Spent $39 million for $1 million in bonuses. That doesn’t mention how much the federal government paid IN ADDITION to the bonus. The bonus is for “more adoptions”, the federal government also pays the basic costs so that $39 million was also payed. Virginia received $1.5 billion from the federal government last year.
