Is there an organization that helps orphaned (or losing one parent) children from the war on terror?

Can you answer Gunsmoke’s question about Adoption?:

I found a lot of organizations that help orphaned (or losing one parent) children from the foreign countries (Iraq, Afghanistan) that lost one or both their parents due to the war, but I cant find any that helps the children of the U.S. that lose one or both parents. Does anybody know any? …..anybody want to start one if there isn’t?
Maybe I wasn’t clear….I didn’t say adopt children, I said “help” as in morally by sending them toys or doing something to HELP out.

    Adoption Feedback: sounds like way too much liability (people wanting to adopt for the life insurance $$$$s the kid now has)

    Also single parents are not allowed to enlist in the military so they have to have at least a surviving parent somewhere
