NOTE:I REALISED I MADE A CRUCIAL MISTAKE IN THIS VIDEO..SARAH ANGELINA CHAVEZ WAS BORN ON DECEMBER 5TH,2002 NOT DECEMBER 2ND,2002. Sarah Angelina Chavez was born on December 5th, 2002 in California to her mother Sophia Chavez. When Sarah was born she was found to have Vicodin in her system. A case worker opened up a file on Sarah when she was two days but never followed up on the case. January 1st, 2005 Sophia was taking narcotic while she was pregnant with her another child. Sophia called the 9-1-1 saying she had a miscarriage at her home. When paramedics reached her home they found her stillborn baby in the toilet. Fearing for Sarah social workers tracked her down and found she was with a great-aunt, Frances Abundis. When they arrived at the home they found Sarah with two black eyes and a cut on her nose. Sophia was considered an unfit parent. The social worker feared for Sarah so they had her removed from Frances and placed in protective custody. Sarah was placed with two women, Dianne Hardy-Garcia and her partner, Corri Planck after they were checked and went through different procedures. “She had chocolate all over her face, and she had a candy cane in her mouth, and I brought her a little teddy bear and she jumped in my arms,” Dianne Hardy-Garcia. While at her new home Sarah had toys, books and her own room. She loved to watch Mary Poppins. Sarah also had a little pet schnauzer, who would sleep outside Sarah’s door. Sarah went to West Hollywood day care center and …

OMG!! I am a Christian single mother of two handsome boys one is 8 and the one is 1yrs old living in New Zealand. I really don’t understand why any Judge would return this precious child to her Great-Aunt after what happened the first time when Child services went to see Sarah. Our system here isn’t 100% perfect either..
My Heart goes out to the foster couple that made Sarah have a normal chance to live as a chld the way a child is supposed to live even though it was short..
R.I.P Sarah..
@sarrahgoud – I love your comment. I am all for gay and lesbian marriages and adoption or having kids in general but your comment about God and it being his responsibity is brilliant. You are so right! Sarah would have been alive today, had she stayed with her moms. They were the only real parents she knew. As a mom and a human being this breaks my heart. Thank you for posting that comment
@digitalartgirlslive – I also wish that she could of stayed with them. They were the only real parents Sarah knew. This breaks my heart
They should have left the girl with the lesbians this is so sad
May you rest in peace little one with our Father in Heaven.
This is so sad but this crazy system is not set up to protect children. I had it explained to me that there is a law in my state that basically was passed to try and keep bio families together but in the end it is used to keep kids in unbelievable situations. The law basically protects the rights of the bio parents above all else including the safety of the child. My experience with the system is that it is basically there to prevent me from protecting my own child.
what a heartbreaking and disgusting story. there is a special place in hell for anyone who hurts sweet innocent children. i hope the social workers who failed sweet Sarah are haunted for the rest of their lives. she shouldve been put in foster care as soon as vicodin was discovered. she shouldve stayed with her loving foster family. so many should haves. people failed Sarah, she is dead because of it. laws/protection against child abuse have a long way to go. RIP sweet angel
i really hope the state she lived in can live w the decissions they made by taking her away from her foster moms,they sentace that baby to death and being a mom of a 2yr old girl this really sickens me to see that the justice system failed this lil girl i hope the ppl who was involved just rot in hell.rip baby sarah u r a angel baby.and foster moms im so sry for ur loss i hope u find peace
i hope that the judge learned about the poor little girl’s death.
so that he will never ever able to take a single glance on any kids…
and finally gone nuts and cut off his own d*ck to feed himself…
@Alimccoy1 pain killer meds
I dont care whether she was in a home with two lesbians lookin after her or not. OBVIOUSLY there she was being taken care of and she was very loved. when she had to leave that home she was murdered and ppl wanna judge on the fact that the loving home she was just in was a lesbian home? come on.
I really hope that judge is no longer a judge…That sweet little girl did not deserve any of that.
@weeeee78 yes it’s a strong painkiller.
a lot of people abuse it and use it to get extremely high, though.

If she stayed with the gay couple, she should be alive now. They took care of her, and gave all care that her relatives can’t give to her. RIP little angel.
@Alimccoy1 vicodin i believe is a very strong painkiller (i think it is im not sure.)
God people are so stupid she was so beautiful,and now she’s gone.
whats a vicodin?
this is awful…i want to be the change i want to see..im am in tears now
the worst part is the system continues to fell these children, its really sad, i can’t phantom why anyone would do such horrible things like that to these beautiful, innocent children, i feel anger and disgust when i think about all the children lives that could have been saved from situations like this if the system hadn’t failed them and i don’t wanna hear religious bigots going about the fact the child was taken care of by lesbians who gives a s**t as long as the child was being taken care of
@amosboys agreed

It’s a great film. Thanks for sharing your story : )
hi im charlotte i made this film because i wanted to prove to people kids in care are not as bad as others make out were just normall kids. i hope you all like my film please leave me a comment and tell me what u think x
Good video. I’m a 2007 UK foster care leaver, and I’ve got into Aston University in Birmingham, which shows care leavers are not as stupid as the government thinks. Keep it up!
