A movie of Julian Schnabel with Freida Pinto. Based on the novel by Rula Jebreal, the movie revolves around a real-life orphanage established by a Palestinian woman (Abbass) following the 1948 creation of the Israeli state. (Pinto) was sent to the orphanage in 1978. When, later in life, she goes to teach at a refugee camp and falls for an activist, Miral is torn between resistance and education as separate paths to political change

In researching Miral, I just came across this new film regarding the Middle East and an important terrorist act:
Their Eyes Were Dry, tells the story of the 1974 terrorist attack in Ma’alot, Israel where children were taken hostage by three terrorists.
NCM Fathom is releasing Their Eyes Were Dry in movie theaters nationwide as a special one night event on May 9th! For more info and to buy tickets, please visit:

frieda pinto is great looking, but she cannot act. she took off after slumdog millionaire because it was a great movie, but her role was very small and all it really required was that she look good. her time will be up soon

Jus say this at the Doha Film Festival! It was great and Freida Pinto acting was bang on!
Really want 2 see this, looks very interesting and “Oscar material”. Plus, Freida Pinto looks drop dead gorgeous here, she always is and i smell a Oscar nod for her in this, too. Ouf of the Slumdog Millionaire bunch, she’s picked the right direction by picking good roles at least for right now.
thanks for Mrs Pinto !
