Hello there! If you are new here, you might want to subscribe to the RSS feed for updates on this topic.
Can you answer gardennut’s question about Adoption?:

We are both permanent residents and want to adopt from India from where we are. We do plan to apply for citizenship but we cannot for another 3 years. I also know that there is a 2 year co-residence rule which we cannot do as I cannot live outside the country for longer than 6 months, as I would lose my greencard. Is there anyway that we can adopt and have the child brought to US under a visa(dependent) and then after we are citizens we can apply for a permanent residence for the child?

Adoption Feedback: No, unfortunately, there isn’t anyway for you to do this until after you or your husband become an American citizen, unless you can find a child to adopt within the US. There are no dependent visa classes that would apply.
