Can you answer dreamchaser’s question about Adoption?:
I have never “denounced” my russian citizenship, and it would be helpful if anyone knew how i could find out if I am still a Russian citizen. I plan on going back, in the future, so I need to know, if I need to apply for dual citizenship or not.

Adoption Feedback: check if you have your original birth certificate from Russia, if you do then you can go to the Russian Embassy and apply for passport
Adoption Feedback: try here
Adoption Feedback: You need to contact the Russian Embassy, you didn’t give up your Russian citizenship but your adoptive parents may have done so for you. Call the Embassy and explain your situation as they are the only ones who can answer you. You may need your orginal Russian birth certificate, if you don’t have that ask your parents for all the paperwork they have about your adoption.
Adoption Feedback: Well, keep in mind that if you are still a Russian citizen, and I think it’s likely that you are, if you go back to Russia, you will be subject to Russian law like any other Russian citizen. And that would include the draft, if you are a man. So, being a Russian citizen may well be a source of pride for you, and that’s fine, but keep in mind that with privileges, also comes responsibilities.
