Adoption Feedback: I don’t know, if I was adopting from Russia I would think twice before doing it. Some of those children have very bad heredity. It’s not their fault, but if their parents were alcoholics or drug addicts then the children have a high risk of getting addicted too. Plus, some parents just don’t know what they’re getting into – remember those sad cases a couple of years ago when an American woman killed her adopted Russian son?

Adoption Feedback: What I think about adopting is what people think about it in general – i do not see that adopting in Russia is more or less questionable than anywhere else .

You put the finger on a very serious problem and I would avise you to find dedicated parental sites about the matter – in Russia or anywhere else.

Adoption Feedback: I was adopted from Russia, and I say to you, good luck! Adopt a baby boy, please, because no one ever wants them!

Adoption Feedback: Mercutio is right, although I don’t know why there are so many more boys there? But there are. It’s strange with China directly under Russia and it’s the exact opposite.

Anyhow, I adopted a little girl from Vladivostok when she was 7 months old. She is a treasure and I feel so blessed. The experience was rigorous, to say the least, but the Russians were great to us. On the other hand, dealing with the US bureaucrats was a nightmare. Long story. She is very healthy, doesn’t have RAD nor FAS. She did have rickets but that was easily cured. I can’t remember a day before she wasn’t in my life. She fills up my whole world. She has a great sense of humor and is very empathetic. If I could do it again, I would but I would never go through either of the American agencies I used. Their “practices” and greed are inexcusable.
Thanks for letting me brag about my beloved daughter.
Mercutio, if you are ever looking for a nanny position and to teach my little one Russian, let me know. Blessings to all.
