As promised, this is a complete book of international adoption. I now have a great idea of what to expect. There are also great tips spread throughout. The personal stories of adoption are nice, but not particularly helpful. Also, if you want REALLY specific information about certain steps in the process, you will need to supplement this book with another. However, we are very pleased by this guide, recommend it to ANYONE considering international adoption and we plan to share it with our families so they have a good idea of what we will be going through.

It only took me two evenings to read the book cover to cover! Once I picked it up I just couldn’t put it down. The book was extremly insightful and really prepared me for what i should expect. The book wasn’t negative only honest in certain areas and brought up some possible situations that I hadn’t yet considered. If i had one negative thing to say about the book it would be that while the author tried to include experiances from several countries the main focus ended up being China. Probably because she adopted from china. There was one section which pulled info from several diffrent countries but didn’t have anything on Ethiopia, the country I’m adopting from, however it did have a break down in the index that did include Ethiopia and more countries not seriously highlighted throughout the book. Hands down I would recomend this book for ANYONE doing international adoption! ITS A MUST!!!

The Kindle version of this book is practically unreadable. There are typos and formatting problems on almost every page. How can you even charge for this? Is it really that hard to spell check the file before you put it up for sale? Does it cost too much? Is it not in your budget? You do realize that people actually like to READ the books they buy, right?

This is absolutely the best book! Dawn Davenport is incredibly thorough in providing a better understanding of adoption and additional resources to best help you through your process. This is a must buy if you are interested in adoption.
