In co-operation with Youthcare International, it was established that the number of orphans in Ifakara Tanzania is increasing steadily. This required the construction of a new additional orphanage in this region. According to Youthcare International the plan is to build four orphanages on a plot of land, which was bought by the organisation last year. The first house is intended for babies, the second for infants, the third for older children and the fourth will be used for staff accommodation. Approximately 100 children will find a new home in these houses. Together with Youthcare International, the Lyoness Child & Family Foundation will build two of these orphanages, thus giving the children a fresh start in life and opening up new perspectives. Project start: July 2008; Planned completion: October 2010
