When it comes to single parent adoption and that to adopting from Africa, the first few names which will click our minds are the Hollywood divas Madonna, Jessica Alba, Halle Berry to name a few. They say marriages are made in heaven, but the prevailing fact is something different, the pace with which they are made, with the same pace they are being broken down also. Divorcee women being getting scared of leading lonely lives often decide to take the initiative of fostering an orphan child. Not only women even now there are single fathers, who are fostering foundlings and are happy in doing such novel work.

Adopting from Africa is not a trend that is being witnessed recently, but this action has been common among the African American communityÂ since many decades. But in the recent few decades, the mode of procedure has overall changed. In single parent adoption the ratio of male to female is overall same and now males are showing more interest in fostering orphans. If present day’s scenario is compared with the past instances then it will be found out that earlier women were more actively involved in fostering rather than men. But now with the change in mentality as well as with the rise of awareness, men have volunteered themselves to become fathers to these homeless children irrespective of being married or divorcee or being single. African continent is counted among the poverty stricken lands and there are still numerous homeless children, who slip to bed almost every other night’s empty stomach. Such type of unfortunate children is given shelters by various foster care centers and these are then adopted by the willing parents or individual parents who are waiting child adoption. With gay marriages becoming legal in the United States, the gay couples are now clinging towards adopting from Africa for leading a social life like others.
